Day 6

All of the diggers were gathered around the first trial trench
hoping for new exciting finds.
Nature tried again to break it's own records and it wouldn't reveal to the diggers any of it's Stone Aged secrets. It only let small quartz splinters to unsurface like the two other days.

From this deep hole there has been found a lot of promising artifacts.
A trial trench was opened next to it to see if the artifacts continue.

A few new trial trenches were opened farther beyond these two tents which have been very promising lately.

Tästä syvästä kuopasta on löydetty paljon lupaavaa esineistöä.
Viereen avattiin koeoja näkemään, jos esineistö jatkuisi
odotettuun suuntaan.
Muutama uusi koeoja on avattu edempänä, sillä sieltä on viimeaikoina löytynyt paljon esineitä.

Day 5

During the morning coffee the diggers read with curiosity an article about the dig from a local newspaper called Perniön Lehti.

Only a few quartz splinters were found.

The article is in Finnish.

Day 3

Fortunately, not all those who had booked made an appearance and the final number of participants was eight, because people had other engagements.

In the morning, it seemed like it would rain so we put a tent over the recently opened trial trench. The putting together of the tent was not exactly easy. (pipe one to pipe two, connect three to four and four to three...) The pieces had problems in staying together, but we still got it bolted into the ground in various ways and even though the day was windy, the tent didn't fly away, which is a good thing.

At the end of the day the diggers found burned bones and other signs of habitation in the trial trench and in another trench farther on. The archeologists confirmed that we were at a Stone Aged dwelling place, which has been known for quite some time now.
